Step 4 -> Dua Dua & Dua

      Bismillah !!

I will share a tip with you which helps organize your thoughts and fulfill all your duas. Go to a place which is comfortable for you, mostly in nature like a park or open sky. For me, it’s usually my study area or somewhere around nature.

Kindly take out a small mini notebook or notepad on your phone and title the book or notepad "My Personal Duas." On the first page, write Allah SWT names and his hamd, Tasbeeh, and Darood, especially those duas which are greatly likely to fulfill all your duas. Then write and divide your duas into parts:

  • First Few Pages:

  • All duas about oneself—ask His forgiveness; ask for good health, Afiyah, and khair of this world and the Hereafter. Ask for success in both dunya and deen education, a blessed life, Righteous Spouse & children ,a blessed death, and success in this world and the Hereafter. Pray for safety from the punishments of the grave, and Allah SWT’s protection in the Akhirah, on the Day of Judgment, in Jannah, and for all your personal wishes. Make dua for all the good deeds you want to do and seek protection from bad deeds, especially the ones which are difficult. Include Quran study, Quran Hifz, Tajweed correction, and all other areas a person may desire.

  • Then, duas for your parents if they are alive—for their life, health, financial help, etc. If they have passed away, make more dua for them and also include this Sunnah dua.

  • Then, your spouse. Then, your children

  • Then, say: “My parents, my husband’s parents, my siblings, my husband’s siblings, their spouses, their children up to four generations before and after the one who passed away—bless them with mercy and Magfirah. And for those who are alive and will come, give them all good things.”

  • You can make dua as a whole for them, like: “O Allah, bless my siblings, their spouses, and their children with khair of this world and the Hereafter. Give them guidance to Islam, Quran knowledge, etc.”

  • The benefits of this dua: it brings khair, it is Ihsan—they may not even know you are making dua for them, it is Silah Rahmi, and it cleans your heart as well because you are doing it for His beautiful face.

  • Then, for a special family member, Friend, Class Mates or anyone  who is really in need of something.

  • Then, your teachers and your friends.

  • Then, for the Muslim Ummah.

Start with forgiveness first, then ask His mercy, and then all your wishes. You can also have one page only for your urgent needs. If time is short, you can just sit and ask those duas.

But ask from the bottom of your heart, not just by reading. Thank Allah who guides you for those duas and then make it a habit. When you achieve something from your dua, cut it out and write Alhamdulillah on it. This notebook can be kept, and you can add more duas to it too.

You don’t have to sit in one sitting. Ask when your heart is fully focused, even 3–5 minutes daily. Trust Him, and if you are not getting it, there is big khair for us that we just don’t know, or we will get better than what we ask, or a calamity will be removed from us, or the best—we will get the reward in the Hereafter.

Why Make Dua (Supplication)?

Dua/supplication, is a direct way to communicate with Allah. You can call upon Him anytime there is no special day, time, or occasion required. Whenever you turn to Him sincerely He hears and responds.

Allah promises to answer the sincere supplication of His servants. Dua is not just a request; it is a form of worship, so it should be made with sincerity and devotion. You can ask for anything that is lawful, whether it is small or large, worldly or spiritual.

The Qur’an encourages believers to call upon Allah repeatedly:

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me…”

Surah Ghafir 40:60

“And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell in humiliation.”

The Prophet ﷺ also emphasized the importance of dua:

Sahih al-Bukhari (Volume 8, Book 75, Hadith 377)

“Du‘ā’ is the essence of worship.”
(Making dua is itself an act of devotion to Allah.)

Sahih Muslim (Hadith 2675)

“There is nothing more dear to Allah than a servant making du‘ā’ to Him.”

Dua is not just a request; it is a profound form of worship that strengthens your connection with Allah and brings both worldly and spiritual blessings.

Best Times to Make Dua in Ramadan

While Fasting (All Day) - From Fajr until Maghrib - The dua of a fasting person is not rejected

“Three duʿās are not rejected: the duʿā’ of a fasting person until he breaks his fast…”
Tirmidhi

At Iftar (Time of Breaking the Fast)

  • Just before Maghrib - One of the strongest moments for dua

“Indeed, the fasting person has a duʿā’ at the time of breaking the fast that is not rejected.”
Ibn Mājah

In moments when I need something deeply — like passing an exam — I focus my dua on that one need and ask Allah for it repeatedly. You can also use this time to ask Allah to bless you with Laylatul Qadr, to worship Him sincerely, and to grant you His forgiveness.
