1) Start with Dua

Make Dua : Ask Allah to give you ease in fasting, studying, worship and managing your time during Ramadan. Say Bismillah and begin.

Learn about Ramadan: Watch short lectures or read about fasting rules, duas, and the Prophet’s ﷺ habits in Ramadan. You can do this while cleaning, driving, or preparing for Ramadan.

Most important goal: Focus on your Salah - Improve Salah - Try to pray on time and be consistent.

2a) Deep Clean Your Home (Room, Dorm, Office, etc.)

A clean and peaceful space helps you focus on worship and family time.

Tips:

  • Start early: Begin cleaning one or two weeks before Ramadan.

  • Declutter: Remove things you do not need. Donate, Store, or Throw them away.

  • Focus on important areas: Kitchen, bathroom, prayer area, and living space.

  • Create a calm feeling: Use a light candle, incense, or bakhoor.

  • Pro tip: Clean together as a family. It is faster and more fun.

Cleaning can be Ibadah (worship)= If you clean to please Allah and prepare your home for Salah, Ramadan, Guests, or Family, it becomes worship.

Allah says:

“Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves.”
(Qur’an 2:222)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Purity is half of faith.”-(Muslim)

This includes:

  • Clean body ,Clean clothes , Clean prayer space , Clean home etc ......

The Prophet ﷺ also said:

“Removing something harmful from the road is charity.”

- Cleaning removes harm, so it brings reward.

Preparing for worship is also worship, such as:

  • Cleaning before Ramadan , Cleaning your room your self your clothes  for Salah.

  • Cleaning the kitchen for Suhur & Iftar etc....

You can also:

  • Say Bismillah — saying Bismillah before anything brings barakah and reminds you to keep your intention sincere, doing everything only for the sake of Allah swt.

  • Do dhikr or listen to Quran or Ramadan lectures while cleaning.

2b) A Corner for Ibadah (Worship)

Having a special place for worship helps you focus on prayer, Quran, and reflection.

How to set it up:

  • Choose a quiet corner away from distractions.

  • Keep it simple: Prayer mat, Quran, Tasbeeh. To stay organized, use a small basket to keep your dua cards, journal, and other items in one place.

  • Make it welcoming: candle, plant, or Bakhoor

  • Add a Sadaqah Jar: Put $1 daily. Donate it all at the end of Ramadan to a masjid or charity

  • Be consistent: Use this space daily

Pro tip: Keep a notebook or worship planner for writing reflections, duas, or Quran notes.

2c) Ramadan & Eid Shopping

Shopping early helps you focus on worship instead of stress.

For Ramadan:

  • Dates (regular and Medjool)

  • Prayer items: mat, Quran, beads, prayer clothes

  • Healthy food: fruits, grains, beans, proteins

  • Drinks: water, juices, electrolytes

  • Vitamins or supplements if needed

For Eid:

  • Clothes: Buy early and keep Taraweeh clothes in a clean space. Lightly spray bakhoor before wearing

  • Gifts: For family, friends, or charity
Extra tip: Give dates or Water - as a Ramadan gift—you get the reward of those who break their fast

  • Decorations: Lights, banners, table decor

Step 2: Plan Meals and Snacks

    Simple intention:

“I am preparing food now so I have more time for worship during Ramadan.”

    Meal Planning Tips:

    • Use a monthly chart for all meals.

    • Assign theme days (Monday/Rice - Tuesday/Meat ...).

    • Make a grocery list from your plan.

    • Keep backup meals for busy days.

    • Rotate foods for variety.

    • Color code for easy tracking.

    • Batch cook staples for quick meals.

  • Batch cooking: Prepare meals ahead of time to save time and reduce stress during fasting days
  • Cook now, rest later.
    Examples:

    • Cook large portions of food and freeze them.

    • Cut and wash vegetables ahead of time.

    • Prepare soups, sauces, or curries in advance.

    • Marinate meat and store it in the freezer. Check Recipes for "Chicken Marinade"

    • Make snack packs / Sweets for Suḥur or after Taraweeh.

    • Pro tip - 1: Plan meals to save money and time , Use reusable containers , Try online shopping to avoid crowds.

    • Pro tip - 2:  I use ice cube trays to store ginger-garlic paste, chili paste, herb pastes, and even a mix of barley with dates and nuts for Talbinah. It is a traditional, nourishing barley porridge with milk and honey, recommended by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a soothing comfort food for grief and sadness, known for its mood-boosting and health benefits . When I want some, I heat a cup of milk, add 3–4 cubes, and blend them while cooking with a hand mixer. Tasty and super easy.

    Why it helps in Ramadan:

    • Saves time and energy while fasting.

    • Reduces stress before Iftar.

    • Gives you more time for Salah, Quran, and rest.

    • Helps you avoid last-minute unhealthy food choices.

    •  Share Food (Easy Ṣadaqah) :

Take food, water, or healthy snacks to the masjid during Taraweeh.
Share with others — this is one of the easiest and best forms of ṣadaqah.

        Sunnah Reminder:

Before Eating: Say Bismillah – “In the name of Allah.”
After Eating: Say Alhamdulillah – “All praise is for Allah.”

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah is pleased with His servant who, when he eats or drinks, praises Him.”

        Saying  الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ

“All praise is due to Allah, who fed me this and provided it for me without any might or power from myself.”

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever eats and then says this dua, his past sins will be forgiven.” - Abu Dawood, Hadith 3764

          Best Sunnah Foods for Suhur:

          The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Eat suḥur, for indeed there is barakah (blessing) in suḥur.”
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari (1923) and Sahih Muslim (1099)

          The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Suhur is a blessed meal, so do not omit it, even if one of you only takes a sip of water  for indeed Allah and His angels send blessings on those who eat suhur.”
          Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 11086 / Ṣilsilat al‑Aḥādīth al‑Ṣaḥīḥah 1654

        • Soaked Dates in water
        • Milk with honey
        • Barley porridge (Talbīnah)
        • Bread with olive oil
        • Bread with vinegar
        • The Prophet ﷺ did eat vinegar with bread. There are authentic narrations indicating he ﷺ ate bread with vinegar, and sometimes also with salt or olive oil. For example:

          • Narration: Anas ibn Malik (RA) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Bread with vinegar is enough for me." — Reported in Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 3767

          • It was considered simple, nutritious, and filling, making it a practical food choice for times like suhoor.

          Why it’s good for suhoor:

          1. Light but filling: Bread gives slow-release energy; vinegar can help with digestion.

          2. Easy on the stomach: Helps you avoid feeling heavy while fasting.

          3. Sunnah: Following what the Prophet ﷺ ate is rewarding in itself.

          Nabīdh (Soaked Dates Drink)

          What is Nabīdh?
Dates soaked in water overnight. The water becomes naturally sweet. The Prophet ﷺ drank it.

          How to Make Nabīdh

          * Put 3–5 dates in a jar of water. Cover and leave overnight. Drink the next morning. Remove the dates after drinking.

Ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنه) said: "The Prophet ﷺ used to have Nabīdh prepared for him at night, and he would drink it in the morning, the next day, and the following night. If anything remained on the third day, he would give it to a servant or have it thrown away."
          — Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim

              Ramadan Decorations for Children

Simple Ramadan decorations make children excited and connected to the month. Items like moon-and-star banners, a Ramadan calendar, or a small prayer corner help children feel that Ramadan is joyful and special.

              Sending Ramadan Greetings

Wishing friends and family a happy Ramadan is a beautiful way to start the month with kindness. Sending a message or dua helps clear hearts, forgive others, and remove bad feelings.

Tip: Share greetings in group chats or social media. If someone is deeply hurt, send them a private message and ask for their forgiveness. And if someone has hurt you, forgive them sincerely for the sake of Allah. When Asking Someone’s Forgiveness Isn’t Possible then Make dua for themSay: “O Allah, put in their heart to forgive me " also give Sadaqah or any good deed on their behalf.

              Display Ramadan Duas
