Divine Decree - (Qadr) & Trusting Allah - (Tawkul ) --> The Two Wings of a Believer’s Heart

Qadr & Tawakkul

Allah ﷻ says :
“Nothing will ever touch us except what Allah has written for us. He is our Protector. And in Allah let the believers place their trust.” -  (9:51)

This beautiful ayah brings together two wings of a Believer's Heart:
Qadr — Allah’s Divine Decree And Tawakkul — Trust and Reliance on Allah

Qadr comes from the Arabic root ق-د-ر, which means to measure, plan, decide, and have full control.--It means that Allah’s knowledge and planning cover every detail of our lives. Nothing is random. Nothing is hidden from Him. Nothing happens without His will.
Tawakkul comes from the Arabic root و-ك-ل, meaning to rely, entrust, or appoint someone to take care of your affairs.----- Trusting Allah with the outcome
believing He is in control .

Qadr teaches us to accept Allah’s plan.
Tawakkul teaches us to work hard and trust the result to Allah.
Together they bring balance: Effort from us, Trust in Allah, And peace in the heart.

For example:
You prepare your CV and apply → your effort
You ask Allah to open the best door → your trust
You attend the interview with confidence → your Tawakkul
You accept the result, hired or not → your belief in Qadr

Qadr brings peace to the heart.
Tawakkul brings strength to life.

Together they create a believer who: Trusts Allah in difficulty - Thanks Him in ease
and stays hopeful through every test.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Amazing is the life of a believer! Everything that happens to them is good. This gift is only for the believer: when something good comes, they show gratitude — and that’s good for them. And when hardship hits, they stay patient — and that’s also good for them.”Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2999

Either we spend our days worrying, overthinking, and exhausting our hearts…
Or we choose to trust Allah — the One whose plan is always perfect.
-- -- -- > So accept the Qadr completely  & Trust His perfect plan. He knows what we do not.

Allah ﷻ says :
" perhaps you dislike something and it is good for you; and perhaps you love something and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you do not know.” - Al-Baqarah-216

Lets do This Activity

Take a notebook and divide it into three sections: Past, Present, and Future.
In each section, you will write — and then speak to Allah from your heart.

Past: Letting Go of What Has Already Happened

Write down the things from your past that still hurt you, confuse you, or make you feel guilty. Then write beside them:

“Ya Allah, it already happened. It is no longer in my control.
Forgive me for my shortcomings, my mistakes, and the moments I was weak.
Whatever I lost, replace it with something better.
Turn my pain into purification, and bring me closer to You through it.”

As you write, feel the weight leaving your heart — because the past is already written and already closed.
And forgive yourself too. If the King of all kings can forgive us, who are we to refuse forgiveness to ourselves?

 Present: Releasing Today’s Worries

Write all your current stresses, fears, and responsibilities.

Then write beside them: “Ya Allah, I am never in control. I hand all my affairs over to You. Whatever the outcome will be, I trust You completely — because You love me, and You never choose anything except what benefits me,even if I don’t understand it right now.”

Let your heart soften. Imagine placing every worry into Allah’s Hands. - “And then be honest with yourself — truly trust Him. Give your heart to Allah completely. He will never let you regret it, because whoever relies on Him is never abandoned.”

Future: Surrendering What Has Not Happened Yet

Write the things you fear or think about regarding your future.

Then write beside them: “O Allah, my Qadr is already written by Your perfect Wisdom. Bless my life with good, with khayr, with barakah, with rahmah. Make my Life easy, guide me to what is best for my dunya and akhirah, and give my heart ease and istiqamah (steadiness) upon Your obedience.”

Feel the peace of knowing your future is already taken care of by the One who never makes a mistake.

Now....

Place your hand on your heart and say:

“Ya Allah, I trust You with my whole heart.
Whatever You choose for me — it is the best.
I let go, and I rely on You completely.”
